We had so much fun with Uncle Nathan here. :)  Please come back halfway across the world soon bro!!!  Here are a few other random pictures of stuff we did while he was here.  One of those things was going to turtle beach.  AWESOME!  They just come right up to the shore and hang out.  They have volunteers that rope off areas when the turtles come on the shore to protect them but it was so cool to see!  Have I said it enough?  I LOVE HAWAII!!!!

My brother got leave for the month of February so he decided to spend a week of it here with us!!  (He's in the airforce stationed in Germany.)  I thought he was coming to explore Hawaii and felt bad b/c Travis was going to be in the field for a good portion of his time but he was content just hanging at the beach with the kiddos.  He kinda loves his nieces and nephew. :)  One place I've been wanting to check out but Travis is NOT interested is the Dole Plantation.  So we decided to take Nate.  It wasn't a big deal but it was cheap and a fun day activity so I think we'll go back (especially for some more Dole Whip YUM!)

 

 

Dole Maze.  There were 9 check points and we found TWO!  It's a HUGE maze.  David got a little crabby but the girls thought it was great!

Sometimes living in Hawaii is actually hard because you have to do everyday things when all you want to do is go to the beach. Trav has to go to work, Lexi has to go to school, doctors appointments, grocery shopping, laundry... At least it's fun to do those normal things and see a different side of them. Lexi's new school did a President's Day Parade and she was picked to represent one of the First Lady (First Lady Abigal Adams to be exact.) It was really cute and she was absolutely adorable!

Random pictures from the month of January (yes I'm a little behind!)  So the majority of them are of David because I just like him best right now... I'm KIDDING!  He just is changing the most and let's be honest he doesn't do much on the beach or on the hikes so he needs his time to shine! ;)

How about a change of pace.  Instead of hiking pictures here are some beach pictures!  When we're not hiking we're pretty much at the beach!  Hawaii cost of living is NOT cheap but I love that all of our favorite things to do are free!!  Ko Olina is defintely our favorite place to go when the husbands have to work b/c there are not many waves and the kids can go play even though I have to stay back on the beach with David (I say HAVE to loosely b/c I atually prefer to lay on the beach! :))

Surprise surprise more hiking pictures!!  We have pretty much taken advantage of any morning Lexi doesn't have school and Travis doesn't have to work. :)  This was Pu'u Pia and it was a nice easy trail.  I swear these girls were born to hike!   Lexi never says a word just stays right up with Travis in the front.  Ryan will occasionally say she needs a break and she stops for a minute and the troops on!  And David is just as easy as alwasys.  As shown in the picture below.  I truly hope I never get "used" to where I am living!

Another great bonus of living next to your best friends again is lots of kid swapping! Travis and I took advantage of him having a Friday off while Lexi was at school and we took David and Ryan over to Cristine's for the day. We went for a little more intermediate hike. It was 5 miles (round trip) with about a 2000 elevation gain. The last 1/3 or so of the hike was the most intense part with stairs going almost the whole way. It was soooo worth it for the view! A completely panoramic view of Oahu.  The name of this hike was Kuli'ou'ou Ridge.  We are never going to tire of hiking here!
