Yesterday they had a Spring EGGstravaganza on post and the weather was BEAUTIFUL! Trav is taking a weekend class for school so it was a great way to pass the time.
The morning started with an Easter Egg hunt for 18 months-3 year olds. Ryan probably had no idea what was going on but I was excited for her! They had a big roped off area so when they said go Ry and I ran out there. She had a couple in her basket and was getting into picking them up. I pointed a couple out to her and all of a sudden some teenager swooped in and grabbed them. I looked back and saw she was with her mom and 2 year old sister and had about 50 eggs in her basket. Then I moved to the next couple and showed them to Ryan. SAME teenager grabbed them all. Okay seriously. I was so annoyed. So I had to say something. I mean come on this is for the kids let them pick up their own! So I said, “can you please let the KIDS pick up some of the eggs.” I was not nice and I’m sure they were cussing me out as they walked away but we went on and Ryan got about 10 eggs and was perfectly happy! J
Lexi’s group was next and she did great all on her own. She was running and grabbing and having a blast. She got about 10 also and was completely happy. After the egg hunts we got tattoos, jumped on the bouncy houses, made bracelets, played the “egg roll” ( they used golf clubs to hit eggs down the lines,) and got to see the Easter bunny. Alexis even gave her (it was a her she was PINK!) a hug all on her own. That has NEVER happened! We had so much fun and the girls really enjoyed the morning.
We spent the entire rest of the day outside. Alexis had another soccer game and she did even better this time with chasing the ball and getting in and trying to get it from the other team. The rest of the day was spent in our backyard. Before I had kids the weather really didn’t affect me. I never cared that it rained all the time in Germany or took advantage of nice days. NOW I live for them. Nice days mean happy kids playing outside and windows rolled down in the car. They mean active children doing active things and not cooped up in the house. I am so happy for Spring to be here. Happy Spring and Happy Easter!

A few days ago I was talking on the phone to Theresa. Alexis came over with a Strawberry Shortcake book and said, "Look mom we can make a Strawberry Shortcake cake. We just need flour, eggs, and strawberries." That's all that was on the picture. There was also a recipe that Alexis thought was a list. She's always talking about lists for some reason (I swear I only write lists occasionally!) So after I got off the phone she told me, "mommy, here is the list for the Commissary of everything we need for a cake." (yes, she said Commissary. Do I have a military brat or what?) She was so cute and insistent I decided we had to do it. Since it only required flour and eggs I decided a white cake mix was in order. I also got whip cream for our frosting. This is our finished product. She even helped me cut the strawberries with her big girl knife (a butter knife!) She was so excited. Sometimes it can take so little to make a kid happy! SO worth it!

This past Saturday Lexi had her first GAME! She did really well and the only thing we need to work on is getting in there and getting the ball. She would get a little nervous with ALL the kids going after the same ball. (In practice they usually all have their own!) I was so proud of her though. She played through the whole game. (All 26 minutes HAHA!) There are 11 kids on her team. Only 7 showed up. Only 5 would actually go on the field (you have to have five on the field at all times.) And only 3 stayed on the field the whole time without complaints. One of those was Lex. She is really enjoying soccer. I wish I could get the video on here but my video camera is a d.v.d. and I have no idea if or how I could get that uploaded... Overall it was a fun and comical game. Both teams scored for each other one time and sometimes the kids weren't sure what was going on!! GO ROCKETS!
Soccer player.
Huddled up before the game.
Ready to start
There is always time to strike a pose!
Going after the ball (Lex is number 7)
She was really good at waiting for the whistle and if the ball crossed the white line she would stop dead in her tracks right before the line!
Kind of hard to see b/c Travis had taken Ryan to the car by the this point but they are doing "good game high fives!"

On Monday after the Zoo we went to an awesome mall! Seriously they had a minature golf course AND a bouncy place IN the mall! Then Tuesday we went to lunch at Johnny Rockets (I have never eaten there before it was great food and fun for the kids!) then we just let the kids play at a close by park and exhaust themselves so they would nap in the car. Then we drove to Ikea and did some MORE shopping and then I headed home. Britteny and Cindy went to the Aquarium the next day but we decided to not go since we had JUST been there not too long ago. We had such a good time! I can't wait till our next visitor (HINTHINT! :) ) These are the rest of our pics from Atlanta...
After I took Lexi's picture Ryan kept saying ME ME CHEESE!! And then copied Lex! TOO CUTE!

The other place we went while we were in Atlanta was Imagine It. It's a Children's Museum and it was fabulous! I love places like this and plan on going back even if it is an hour and a half away! It was perfect for ALL the kids ages and Alexis and Ryan LOVED it!
Riding the tractor. As soon as Ry got on here she started yelling yee haw b/c that's Brittney told her to say the day before on the horse at the zoo. Too cute!

Help mama help! :)
They had moon sand! I love that stuff and so did the girls. It's basically sand that sticks together like clay. I WISH we could fill the girls new sandbox with it but it's just so expensive!
