30JAN14

Hey did you all know that I love running?  And especially racing?  Let me remind you.  HAHA!  I really wanted to do a Thanksgiving Turkey Trot so finding one along the beach at North Shore was perfect!  I was really hoping to get my first under 30 minute 5k but turns out this was a trail run for about a mile of it and we were running on roots and sand.  Not easy.  Still I had my best time yet for a 5k with 30:48 and I'm still going for my under 30!  We made it home in plenty of time to get some cooking and eating done for Thanksgiving!

Brooke, Me, Ashley, and Lindsay before the race!  Not a bad starting point huh?

These guys were AWESOME!!  Loved their costumes!

Completed!

They handed out Turkey Legs for our "medals" FUN right??

This was my last race of 2013 with plenty on the calendar for 2014.  My first year of running I completed 8 races including 2 5k's, 2 fun run 5 k's, 2 8k's, 1 10k, and 1 Half Marathon.  It was a good year!!

Lexi had a great soccer season.  We really loved her Coach and we will have him again next season too YAY!!  I absolutely LOVE watching her play.  She is a great little soccer player but even better she LOVES it and she plays her little heart out!!  She scored at least 1 goal at just about every game.  GO LEX!!!

Lexi and Coach Matt

Blue Butterflies (they picked a super intimidating team name. HAHA!)

This was at practice.  I don't know why I just like it.

This doesn't LOOK soccer related but this is the Coaches daughter Joey.  She invited Lexi to a "packing party."  Where they packed up boxes for needy kids around the world for Christmas.  Pretty awesome huh?  I really loved the Coaches whole family!

At the packing party they of course had shave ice for the kids.  Isn't that normal?  :)  I loved these pics of Lexi.

12JAN14

Back in July Travis and I hiked Koko Head and if you remember that post I said one day before I leave I WILL do it twice!  In November Nate offered to watch David while Cristine and I went hiking.  (Travis was at work and the girls had school.) However it was an early release day so we only had time to do it once (it takes about an hour to get there from where we live.) We had a ton of fun (yes our definition of fun may need to be examined) and promised we would get back to do it twice in a row.

A few weeks later Travis had the day off and we decided it was time!  Oh my word was it tough to get up there that second time.  My favorite part by FAR was seeing people who were coming back down when we were going up the second time and they would say, "Wait didn't you just come down?"  We would say yes and they would say WHY?  And we would laugh.  It's a tough climb and the second time was killer but I would absolutely do it again (and maybe even try for that 3rd half a time to be cool like Bryatt.)  On the way back down the second time I fell (I was probably going down totally wrong since I was so tired and going down is almost worse than going up.) I landed on my ankle and it was pretty swollen and the top of my foot is still sore.  It was still absolutely AWESOME!!  4,192 steps in one day.  Perfect!

I just love this pic of Cristine admiring the view.

Hawaii Kai

This was the first time we did it together.

My least favorite part.  This is the bridge.  I'm really not scared of heigts but you have to go over this part and there is nothing below you and it makes me NERVOUS!  I feel like I conquered it but I am definitely slow!

Round 1! Tired but only 1/4 of the way through it for this day.

NUMERO DOS.  Still smiling (clearly b/c this is before I twisted my ankle!)  Love my workout buddy.  Cristine's goal is to hike Koko Head 10 times (at least) before she leaves Hawaii.  She's at 5 and I'm at 4.  I think we can do it!!

Oh this little man is such a blessing to our family.  The girls are so sweet with him and he just loves them like crazy!  Here are some random pictures of David from October...

Cutest boy in a bow tie ever!

Trying some whipped cream (Travis basically had to force this into his mouth before he decided he liked it and started begging for more!)

This was at another one of the Ocean Clinics.  David and his buddy Evan.

He's ready!

Everytime one of the girls is in time out (especially if they're crying) David runs next to them and stand in time out and pretend cries.

Ya he already knows all about technoloy.

Proof that I FINALLY have a child who likes enchiladas!

Cute baby at the pool.

Doesn't everyone put these things on their feet while their moms are cooking dinner??

Random October pictures of Alexis and Ryan!  Love these 2 and how great they are to each other!

Crazy Hair Day at school.  They both told me EXACTLY what they wanted!

Travis got a random weekday off during Fall Break so we hit up our favorite lagoon!
Playing in the sand!

Both girls snorkeling.  They absolutely love this beach.  I mean how could they not.  It's beautiful.
They were invited to a Disney Party and again they both knew exactly how they were going to dress up.  Lexi was Pooh and Ryan was Ariel! (We don't have as much dress up as we once did but they made due.)

Over Fall Break the girls needed haircuts.  Ryan REALLY wanted to cut it short and I love that she has her own ideas.  She looks ADORABLE!

Lexi made sure she got just a TRIM!  She wants it longer and longer.  Sweet girlie.

This cracked me up and I want to remember this.  I tell Lexi she can take 2 books to school but one day her back pack was really heavy.  I dumped it out and here is what I found.  That is one school reading book (she didn't have reading homework!) 2 Diary of a whimpy kid, 1 Dork Diaries, 3 Boxcar Children, and a Choose your Own Adventure.  The girl can NOT get enough books!

06JAN14

Halloween was basically 2 weeks of parties, fun, and way too much sugar!!  In other words it was exactly how Halloween is supposed to be.  We started it out at a party at one of Lexi's friends house.  They painted pumpkins, became mummies, bowled, and played some Halloween bingo.  Even Senna's dog Choco Taco dressed up (as a TACO!) David LOVED him.

All the kids at the party.

Cristine and I dress up by wearing orange and black.  That counts right?? Hey she has a pumpkin headband too.

Mummy Ryan.

Mummy Lexi.

Painting our cool white pumpkins we got at the pumpkin patch.
Lexi's finished pumpkin.  Loved her butterfly.  She is such an artist.
Ryan's finished work.  She also LOVES to color, paint, draw, anything she can.

Next up was a trunk or treat at the church.  They had fun going through a haunted house (really it was a fun house) getting candy and playing with their friends.  2 of the wards combined for these so there were quite a few people and they got quite a bit of candy!!

Lexi's friends Kayla and Keely are twins and the whole family was cowboys and Indians and they decorated the car and everything.  SO cute and creative!  (The opposite of me! I just brought my bowl of candy and passed it out as we walked!)

Every piece he would get he would sit down on the ground and try to eat it.  HAHA!
Up next was the actual night of Halloween!  The hills over by our house are pretty intense so instead of listening to the kiddos complain about being tired we headed down to trick or treat with Cristine and family.  Lexi knew right off the bat she wanted to be a fairy (Like her books she loves to read.) So when she saw the watermelon fairy it was no question.  Ryan chose a witch which worked out well since I already had the costume.  And since I couldn't convince them to all match and be smurfs I chose for David to be the greatest costume ever Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle! (seriously I'm obsessed!)  They had a great night and got way too much candy but I think their favorite part was passing the candy out to other kids.

Crawling out of the sewer??!!  HAHAHA!  My fave pic!

The crew.

We had a ridiculous amount of candy!  I got rid of a lot of it by taking it to my church kids! :)
