We had heard Makapu'u Lighthouse was a great easy hike for the kids and that you can often see whales if you go at the right time.  I kept wanting to go (good whale times are Jaunuary-March) but Travis was putting it off b/c it's not really a hike so much as a steep inclined paved walk.  Once again the girls rocked it and it was absolutely worth it.  Not only did we have a GORGEOUS view but there WHALES!  A bunch of them out in the ocean playing.  You could see their spouts and then they would pop up out of the water.  We decided they were playing because there were 2 or 3 of them together that kept popping out.  I mean seriously people I LIVE HERE!!!

The lighthouse at the end which was cool but so not the coolest thing we saw that day!
